Our standards
Our approach to evidence
Every UpCare story starts with an everyday question and follows the evidence as far as it can honestly go.
We begin with a clear question
We define the claim we want to examine before we write. That keeps a story focused and helps us separate a useful answer from an attractive headline.
We look for the strongest available sources
Our research prioritizes peer-reviewed journal articles, systematic reviews and guidance from public-health agencies and recognized medical organizations. When we discuss early laboratory or animal research, we say so clearly.
We show our work
Sources are numbered inside every article and linked in a dedicated Sources section. Readers can open the research, see where a claim came from and assess it for themselves.
We describe the limits
A single study rarely settles a health question. We distinguish association from cause, animal findings from human evidence and a population average from personal medical advice. We avoid turning uncertainty into certainty.
We review and update
Each story includes a publication date. We revise material when stronger evidence or authoritative guidance changes the answer.
